There are Klingons in the White House

Congressman David Wu (D-Oregon) warns: “Don’t let faux Klingons send real Americans to war!” Sage words, indeed. [youtube &w=425&h=350] Link courtesy of TV Squad Update: Yes, by including the video in the page, the XHTML 1.1 validation is completely screwed up.

Damn you, DiMera!

Actor Drake Hogestyn – John Black on Days of our Lives -- and his family were attacked by a deranged man who wanted to exorcise Satan out of John Black, apparently confused about his Satanic possession storylines. He also hadn’t watched Days recently enough to realize that John Black is a supersoldier who can grab you by the hair and punch you in the face justlikethat. :) Everyone’s fine, except the deranged man. No word as to Stefano’s involvement. ...

Saul of the Mole Men

Is it bad that I’m primarily interested in this new Cartoon Network show because it has “Mole Men” in the title? Link courtesy of Boing Boing.

Fictional Women are hot...

The blog Girlfriend ‘07 lists ten fictional women who make it difficult to date real women: Hollywood has a tendency to create female characters who make it nearly impossible to ever be truly satisfied with real women. Because not only do these women tend to be beyond beautiful on the outside, but they’re always unbelievable on the inside too. They’re cool. They’re fun. They always know what to say. And they always have that one little thing that makes you fall in love with them. Maybe it’s because they usually have guys writing their lines and making them perfect, but either way they’re a tough act to follow. ...

Things I know from watching TV tonight

Apparently Brett Favre brings his own weather with him on the road. Green Bay and Seattle are playing Monday Night Football in a snowstorm, in Seattle. When you’re watching pro wrestling, and two tag teams are competing called D-Generation X and the Spirit Squad, it’s inevitable the team named DX will be the good guys. According to the USA Network, we shouldn’t just respect Pearl Harbor veterans for being great soldiers fighters. They were also great lovers. ...

Random stuff from the past

When I run across interesting things to link from my blog, I usually send them to my Gmail account with the best intentions of blogging about them “when I get some time.” Well, that doesn’t happen as often as it should, so I’ll clear out a few items now: 5 Lamest Charlie Brown Cartoons - 10 Zen Monkeys covers the five worst Peanuts animated specials. I can’t agree with the inclusion of Snoopy, Come Home, though. Link courtesy of TV Squad. ...

Super-Villain Motivational Posters

Something Awful is running a series of motivational posters for super-villains. The quality is up and down, but these are some good ones. Link courtesy of X-Ray Spex, which has good posters featuring the Red Skull and Magneto.

Squid Dragon Legend

“It’s devouring the planet, even as we speak!” The New York Television Festival has some featured animation pilots on the web, including Squid Dragon Legend. It’s a decent sendup of anime, featuring the same sorts of thoughts you probably had the first time you saw it. It’s at its weakest when it strays from that into conventional jokes. Great line: “Or maybe he’s seen the future in some sort of crystal skull, with skulls all over it?” ...
